2. QUARANTINED: Is Content Creation Dead?

In the year 2020, we (the entire human society) are facing a global pandemic. Many countries are in quarantine and from that, many people are suffering. What about the people in the creative/entertainment industries? Is content creation dead?

We, content creators, are struggling as well, but content creation is not dead. As a matter in fact, content creation is livelier than ever. Content creators are coming up with new ways to create, edit, and distribute content to reach more clientele to work with their needs during the quarantine. We at Media Arts live in Los Angeles County, where we have been quarantined for two months and counting. During those two months, we have seen many commercials from companies like Postmates, Grubhub, Target, and Wal-Mart (just to name a few), re-direct their approach to accommodate people during these times.

'For example, Postmates is offering “No Touch” delivery to aid in curving the number of people from getting COVID-19. Since Postmates re-adjusted their business approach, they needed to hire content creators to create the content in order to advertise their new approach. That is just one example that content creation is not dead. As content creators, we must analyze the market and think outside the box. One great way to create content and make a living is by offering vertical videos. A lot of content that is viewed is typically viewed on phones in portrait mode. Not many are creating vertical videos, which can give a leg up for many of us. Also, vertical videos give different perspectives and allow the viewer to see things differently. So, go out and create new content and think outside the box. Content Creation is not dead. It’s more alive than ever!
